My 92 TT was in pretty decent shape before I wrecked it, but like anyother 20 year old car it had it's issues. Yes, I could have just replaced the fender, rocker, and door and been good, but what fun is that? I say it is now restored, but more like a "custom" restoration. I didn't go all original, but my Z is the way I want it and I'm happy! The end of november of 2011, I had a "run in" with a deer. It was either hit him, or dodge him. I chose to try to dodge the bugger, while already sliding, went off road, and hit a drainage pipe sticking 10inches out of the ground. This was the results. Sorry for the crappy Iphone pics, one day i'll buy a real camera! Night of the wreck.

RH fender off, you can see the damage to the rocker.
The A-pillar was pushed in a total of a half of a inch. however, the door is fully closed in this pic.
Crunched in the door. Z sporting the "jeep" look LOL!

Time to bring out the scalpel after I got her back from being pulled at the frame shop.

After welding on the rocker panel, the prepping for paint began. I have always like the look of the Z's with fender turn markers, so I picked up a set of JDM fenders from the local importer we have down here. Also, I shaved the antenna, rear wiper, and the rear spoiler (it was starting to rot).

As for color, I went back with the original KY0, swapped out the USDM bumper for a 99 special edition, had the rocker guard smoothed out, the accent stripe painted on in gloss black, the pinch weld blacked out, and here she is fresh out of the booth.

Now comes the "oh so fun" part of reassembly. I replaced all of the weatherstripping in the doors, on the body, and the t-tops. Completely went through the tops, and replaced the moldings, endcaps, and stripping. Replaced all of the door moldings, drip rails, rear glass moldings, windshield moldings, 1/4 glasses, cowl panels, taillights, all under trays, and fender liners. Roughly 6k in parts later I have this beauty in my driveway.

These show the reflectivity of the paint. It is so damn shiney, on sunny days I can't look directly at it!

Detailed the interior as well. Just sucks I couldn't make it to Zdayz this year. Oh well, next year ill be there!

......And just as they're about to catch me.....Twin......Turbos......Kick.......In!
